Home of many famous restaurants, shops and people; Knightsbridge is one of the most sought after locations in London. It also happens to be a great place to sell your luxury handbag. To most tourists, Knightsbridge is known as the ultimate shopping destination, from Harrods to Harvey Nichols and now to Love Luxury.
Knightsbridge hasn’t always held such great esteem, in fact, like most boroughs in London, it began as just land which used to connect London and Kensington by an adjoining bridge over the Westbourne River. The development of the area, including the construction of Harvey Nichols and Harrods in the 19th century, cemented Knightsbridge’s identity as a central part of the city.
Our favourite luxury handbags
Luxury handbags are always something to get excited about. From Hermès to Chanel, we’ve got your wish list covered. However, there are a few bags which are our personal favourites.
Hermès Birkin
Hermès Birkin bags are extremely popular because of their use of high-quality materials, like calf, lizard, ostrich and crocodile skin – the quality is not something Hermès take lightly. The Birkin is typically a symbol of success because of its extremely high price and exclusivity, which is why it’s often seen on the arms of celebrities. There is also an air of mystery around them as Hermès doesn’t tend to reveal how many Birkin’s it sells per year, or advertise their rrp, which again appeals to customers wanting a bag that not many have. The Birkin does tend to be slightly more expensive than the Hermès Kelly bags at the minute.
Hermès Kelly
This bag is not to be mistaken for the Hermès Birkin, they are similar in many ways but different in others. The Kelly bag is a trapezoid shape and is slightly older than the design of the Birkin bag. Saying that, the main difference between the two bags is that the Kelly only has one handle at the top, and has a shoulder strap. Whereas a Birkin has two top handles and no shoulder strap.
Chanel Classic Flap bag
The Chanel Classic Flap bag is as it says in the name, a staple bag when it comes to building your handbag collection. There are two main variations to this bag, a single or double flap, and there are also two quilting types available – classic quilt or chevron quilt. Both are popular, but the classic diamond print will always give you that signature Chanel look.
Spring 2021 saw Chanel rename the Flap bag to the 11.12, named after the original medium classic Flap’s code A01112. Although this bag does come in several different sizes, they now all contain the 11.12 name.
Chanel 19 bag
Another one of our favourites is the 19 bag. Its slightly more modern and chunky style has proved extremely popular with young buyers. The bag itself is available in lambskin, tweed wool and jersey and it contains all of the elements you’d expect a Chanel bag to have such as the CC clasp, quilted pattern and a chain strap. It’s the perfect everyday bag, available in five different sizes; the medium-sized Chanel 19 flap bag can hold everything you need for both day and night, whether that be a notepad, phone or purse.

Should I sell my luxury handbag?
Like most accessories, we can tire of having the same ones in our wardrobes for a long period of time. Nobody can decide whether or not to sell your bag other than you. However, think about things such as how much wear you get out of your handbag compared to when you first purchased it, and whether you’d prefer to invest in a new model.
